Hillman archives event timed to children’s literature conference

The Children’s Literature Program — in the Dietrich School of Arts & Sciences Department of English — will host a special event from 2 to 4 p.m. May 28 in Hillman Library’s Archives & Special Collections in coordination with the national Children’s Literature Association Conference, taking place May 28 to 30 in downtown Pittsburgh.

This event — in the third floor Special Collections Reading Room, Instruction Room, and Exhibit Area — will welcome conference participants and members of the Pitt community to explore curated stations featuring archival materials, with presentations led by Pitt librarians. Light refreshments will be available in the exhibit area, including a traditional Pittsburgh cookie table.

All interested members of the Pitt community are invited to attend.

Transportation for conference participants will be provided via shuttle service by the Children’s Literature Association. Pitt English faculty members Tyler Bickford and Courtney Weikle-Mills will be part of a panel at the conference on “Children's Literature Scholarship as a Global Neighborhood? Reflections on Translation and Transnational Collaboration.”
