Pitt Women, one of the affinity groups for faculty and staff, are organizing several activities for the fall. 

Pitt Theatre Night at “Ms. Sherlock & Ms. Holmes”: The Pitt Stages show starts at 7:30 p.m. Oct. 29 in the Rauh Studio Theatre, in the Cathedral of Learning basement. Meet for a pre-show Happy Hour at 5:30 p.m. at The Porch. Tickets for the play should be purchased individually ($18; use the artist/teacher category). The play is described as “an irreverent, darkly comic, modern take on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s famous sleuth and sidekick.” It re-examines the world’s most famous detective story with a bold new feminist lens, where oddball female roommates Sherlock Holmes and Joan Watson “join forces to emerge from pandemic fog as a deeply codependent, quasi-dysfunctional adventure duo — solving mysteries and kicking butts, until they come face to face with a villain who seems to have all of the answers.” 

SAFE Self-Defense Class: 5-7 p.m. Nov. 13. This will be an unofficial group event. There are 12 spots in these classes offered by the University of Pittsburgh Police Department. To register, email Officer Heather Walker at hlc33@pitt.edu and ask to join the Nov. 13 class.  

Winter Happy Hour: 4:30-6:30 p.m. Dec. 1, University Club Library
