The Pitt Vaccination and Health Connection Hub now has new COVID-19 vaccines in stock and ready to distribute. The 2025-26 Moderna (Spikevax) and Pfizer (Comirnaty) COVID-19 vaccines for patients 12 and older and the pediatric Pfizer 2025-26 COVID-19 (5+) vaccines are available.  

Under the authority of the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy, pharmacists in Pennsylvania can administer the vaccine. The American Academy of Family Physicians recommends that all adults get at least one dose of the 2025-26 COVID-19 vaccine, and the American Academy of Pediatrics advises that any child whose parents want them to receive a COVID-19 vaccine should receive one.

Patients do not need a separate prescription to receive the vaccine. The Hub will check whether a patient’s insurance will cover the shot prior to administration.

The Hub is open for walk-ins at 4041 Fifth Ave. in Nordenberg Hall, but encourages appointments to avoid a longer wait time. The Hub is open 10 a.m.-7 p.m. Mondays and Fridays, and 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays. There are no appointments between 1-1:30 p.m., but the front desk staff are available to answer questions and schedule appointments.
