Join the Pitt Alumni Association for a full schedule of events at Pitt Homecoming 2025 starting Oct. 23. 

An Alumni Awards Celebration will take place from 6:15 to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 23 at the Connolly Ballroom, Alumni Hall. RSVP by Oct. 8. 

The Dietrich School of Arts & Sciences’ Chemistry Department will have a 150th Anniversary Celebration from 6 to 9 p.m. Oct. 23 on the second floor balcony of Chevron Science Center 

On Oct. 24, campus spaces will be showcased during open houses and tours in several Pitt schools from noon to 4 p.m. Hillman Library also will be showing off all the changes made during an eight-year transformation. Guided tours of the new Recreation and Wellness Center will leave every hour from noon to 4 p.m. from the center’s fifth floor. The tours will be around 45 minutes long.  

The Pitt Band will perform school songs and crowd favorites from 3 to 3:45 p.m. during the traditional march from the William Pitt Union through campus and subsequent concert at the Cathedral of Learning. 

Welcome Back Reception: Ale to Pitt 

From 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Oct. 24, reconnect with friends before the fireworks at the Ale to Pitt event in the Cathedral Commons Room. Admission includes food, access to the outdoor patio beer garden (with beer and non-alcoholic drinks) and a giveaway.  

Several schools will have tables at the reception, including: Computing and Information, Dietrich, Education, Fredrick Honors College, General Studies, Social Work and Public and International Affairs.  

Participating alumni-owned breweries include: Acclamation Brewing, Dancing Gnome Brewing, Golden Age Beer Company, Goodlander Cocktail Brewing, Hop Farm Brewing Company, Old Thunder Brewing Company, Tortured Souls Brewing Company and Pitt Engineering UBrew. All alumni are welcome. 

The annual fireworks and lasers (timed to music!) will be from 9 to 9:30 p.m. Oct. 24 with Bigelow Boulevard and the Cathedral of Learning are lit up in celebration of Homecoming. 

Game day 

On Oct. 25, the Panthers will take on the North Carolina State Wolfpack at Acrisure Stadium. The game time hasn’t been announced yet. The official Pitt Alumni Association Tailgate will start three hours before kickoff on the Great Lawn on the North Shore. Admission includes a full meal and three drink tickets for guests 21 years old and older.
