Wellness for Life begins new year; stress reduction program available

The Wellness for Life program for Pitt employees officially began its new benefit year on July 29.

The program offers a variety of resources, including educational content and social support to help you achieve healthy habits — physically, emotionally and financially.

Those with UPMC health plans also can earn health incentives by filling out the MyHealth questionnaire and participating in other wellness activities, such as preventive care and biometric screenings. You and your covered spouse or domestic partner, if applicable, are each eligible to earn up to $200 in Health Incentive Reward Dollars.

Program to reduce stress

One wellness program open at no-cost to all Pitt employees. The MyHealth Less Stress program can help you learn how to better deal with the day-to-day hassles.

The six virtual coached sessions, each led by a professional health coach who is an expert in helping people manage stress, will teach skills to ease the physical, mental, and emotional symptoms of stress. The program includes a workbook and toolkit, experienced health coach, and supportive group environment.

Register through Aug. 30. The sessions will be from noon to 1 p.m. on six Thursdays between Sept. 19, 2024, and May 1, 2025 — specific dates to be shared following registration

For people with UPMC insurance, register through upmchp.us/pittmyhealth. Go to Better Health and Wellness, then Wellness Event Registration. You will earn 20 points/$20 per session on your Consumer Advantage debit card.

For those who aren’t UPMC Health Plan members and want to participate in the classes, call 412-647-4949 and speak to a Health Coach who will get the necessary information needed for the University to issue a Wellness-Only ID for the class.
