Applications are open through Aug. 30 for a Project Development Cohort with the Office of Engagement and Community Affairs to develop community engaged scholarship projects.

Each project team is limited to four people and should include at least one Pitt faculty member and at least one person who primarily works in a community-serving program not affiliated with Pitt. This may include individuals working in nonprofit organizations, governmental agencies, on behalf of resident coalitions or civic associations, faith-based organizations and cultural or Pre-K–12 educational institutions.

Over four facilitated sessions between October 2024 and April 2025, a cohort of project teams will work together to refine and advance the logistic feasibility, community relevance, scholarly rigor and social impact of their plans.

The Office of Engagement and Community Affairs will offer a $1,600 stipend to non-Pitt-affiliated members of the teams for attending all four sessions, in recognition that community-based partners are offering valuable time and expertise for which they may not be otherwise compensated.

Spots are limited, and applications are due by Aug. 30. Applicants will be notified of acceptance Sept. 6.
