From 10 a.m. to noon, Sept. 13, volunteers will be competing in the Pittsburgh Garbage Olympics, which is in its eighth year to clean up trash.
Oakland has joined the challenge and registered four neighborhood teams. Oakland residents, alongside Pitt students, staff, faculty, alumni and other community members, are encouraged to help beautify the neighborhood and show Oakland pride.
Pitt participants can register for their preferred neighborhood using the neighborhood-specific links. There are separate sign-ups and meeting locations for each team.
Community members that wish to volunteer can sign up on pghgo.org.
Gloves, trash bags, and trash grabbers will be provided.
