This summer, Pittsburgh will welcome more than 1,500 college counseling and admissions professionals from around the world for the International Association for College Admission Counseling’s annual conference — co-hosted by the University of Pittsburgh and Carnegie Mellon University.

The conference from July 12 to 16 will be held at various locations across both campuses and the city. For example, the opening ceremony will be at the Carnegie Music Hall, registration and the exhibit hall will be at the William Pitt Union, the counselor fairs will be at Petersen Event Center. International counselors also will be offered the opportunity to stay on one of the campuses.

Pitt is coordinating its own volunteer team for conference week, and is looking for Pitt community members to help show the world what makes Pitt — and the city — so special.

Volunteers, who will be needed the week of July 12, can expect:

• An official Pitt volunteer t-shirt

• Training before the conference so you're fully prepared

• The chance to meet high school counselors and educators from dozens of countries

• Behind-the-scenes access to see how a major international conference comes together

• Professional development experience in event coordination and hospitality

International ACAC brings together high school counselors, independent education consultants, and university admissions representatives from around the globe.
