The holiday season, from Thanksgiving through New Year’s Day, brings with it several days when the University is closed and various services are not available. There also are different deadlines for timecards during the holiday weeks.
Thanksgiving
Staff are off Thursday and Friday of Thanksgiving week (Nov 27-28), which are classified as holidays. Classes and regular work hours resume on Monday, Dec. 1.
Timecards for the week of Nov. 23 to 29 must be submitted and approved by noon Dec. 1.
The Office of Human Resources will be Nov. 27 and 28. To reach HR throughout the Thanksgiving closure, submit an online request. Benefits representatives can be reached by submitting an online request and by telephone at 833-852-2210 from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Nov. 28.
Winter recess
The annual winter recess for faculty and staff begins on Wednesday, Dec. 24, and offices reopen on Monday, Jan. 5.
During the Winter Recess, HR representatives will monitor urgent messages submitted via online request from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Dec. 26, 29, 30, 31, and Jan. 2.
Timecards must be submitted and approved by noon on the following days:

Friday, Dec. 19 for the week of Dec. 14-20

Monday, Dec. 29 for the week of Dec. 21-27

Monday, Jan, 5 for the week of Dec. 28- Jan. 3
Dec. 24 and 25, and Jan. 1, are classified as University holidays. All other weekdays during the winter recess should be entered as “recess” on timecards. For more details on how to fill out those timecards, go to the HR website.
Benefits representatives can be reached by submitting an online request and via telephone at 833-852-2210 from 8:30 to noon, Dec. 24 and 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 31. Benefits customer service will be closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s days. Unless otherwise noted, benefit representatives will be available 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays.
