As Thanksgiving week approaches, Pitt is gearing up for its 20th Christmas Day at Pitt with gift drives and a call for volunteers. The annual event provides holiday meals, gifts for children and winter accessories for adults from the neighborhoods surrounding the University.

Donate a gift: You can drop of an unwrapped gift through Dec. 17 at the Office of Engagement and Community Affairs, 1723 Cathedral of Learning, or purchase a gift from the office’s Amazon registry and have it automatically ship to the Office of Engagement and Community Affairs to be distributed.

Departments, units and offices that want to coordinate a team effort to collect gifts, should register your office by Dec. 12. For more information, email Justin Dandoy at justin.dandoy@pitt.edu.

Pack meals: Volunteers will pack meals for the celebration on Dec. 17 and 18 at the Eatery in Litchfield Towers. Faculty and staff can sign up for two hour shifts between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. each day.

Help on Christmas Day at Pitt: Volunteers are needed for 1.5 hour shifts from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on Dec. 25 at the Eatery. Volunteer jobs include wayfinding, food service, drink and food runners, gift room, busing tables, winter accessories and greeters. The last hour is to-go meals only.
