Sign up for the Day of Caring on Oct. 17 is live now. Pitt staff and faculty are invited to a day of giving back and engaging with community partners who would benefit from extra help.
From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 17, volunteers will head out to locations throughout Pittsburgh to take part in a variety of projects — from gardening, to painting, to cleanups, and more. Lunch will be provided.
The Day of Caring is an extension of Pitt Civic’s Action Week. The theme this year is “Enriching Our Community Together.”
Staff are eligible to receive paid time off each month to participate in community service or volunteer activities. Full-time regular staff members may use up to 7.5 hours per month; part-time regular staff members are eligible for pro-rated volunteer time. For more information, including eligibility, how to record volunteer time on your time card, and frequently asked questions, please visit the Volunteer and Professional Development Time Guidelines page on the Office of Human Resources website.
Faculty may volunteer as many hours as their time and inclination allows.
