Four things you may not know about the Pitt Vaccination and Health Connection Hub

FROM PITT HEALTH SCIENCES

Did you know that The Hub offers much more than COVID-19 and flu shots? Here are some highlights.

1. Free wellness screenings for Pitt employees with UPMC health insurance through the University. Earn up to $80 in wellness incentives to be put toward any eligible over-the-counter health expense by completing a biometric screening. Biometric screenings measure your blood pressure, height, weight, BMI, fasting blood glucose and cholesterol levels to help you stay on top of your health. Learn more about how to use and access your reward dollars here.

2. Pediatric flu and COVID-19 vaccines for kids ages 3 and older in a welcoming, kid-friendly space.

3. All vaccinations for adults including RSV, shingles, pneumococcal and more. So far this semester, The Hub has provided 7,723 vaccinations — 2,257 COVID shots; 5,230 flu shots and 236 other vaccines.

4. Pre-travel health consultations and any — yes, ANY — travel vaccines for adults.

The Hub is open to the public; you don’t need to be affiliated with the University. If you aren’t sure whether you’re up to date on your vaccines and have records in Pennsylvania, they can tell you what you may be due for and provide it at The Hub.

The Hub is both a patient care service, in partnership with University Pharmacy, and a hands-on classroom for Pitt health sciences students of all disciplines. By visiting The Hub in Nordenberg Hall (across from the Fifth Avenue Starbucks on the Oakland campus) for your vaccination and health connection needs, you are supporting the Pitt community.
