Weigh to Wellness Program available to UPMC Health Plan members

Professional health coaches will lead the MyHealth Weigh to Wellness Program, which will teach participants how to track their calories and activity to help lose weight at a safe rate.

The program is offered at no-cost to all UPMC Health Plan members at Pitt. Registration runs through Jan. 21. The weekly sessions will run for eight sessions from noon to 1 p.m. Thursdays starting Feb. 6. Participants can earn up to 20 points in Health Incentive Reward Dollars per session.

The program covers calorie counting, physical activity, emotional eating, meal planning, and making healthy choices while dining out. It consists of an orientation and eight sessions. Follow-up phone calls at 30, 90, and 180 days will help participants stay on track.

As part of the program, participants can get their bloodwork taken pre/post program to see improvements, using the Pittsburgh campus MyHealth@Work clinic, in the Medical Arts Building, 3708 Fifth Ave.
