Walnut Capital to begin demolition for Fifth Avenue building

The bus stop on the western side Halket Street along the Fifth Avenue Bus Lane has been relocated to the other side of Halket to allow for demolition of buildings along Fifth Avenue, Halket Street and Euler Way by Walnut Capital.

The Shadyside developer is planning at 10-story office building geared toward technical, medical and research companies. The city planning commission approved the project in October. The building is expected to be completed by 2022. It will have 28,000 square feet of office space, 6,200 square feet of retail space and 100 spaces of vehicle parking.

The area will be fenced in, closing off the sidewalk adjacent to the bus lane as well. The bus routes affected by the stop relocation are 54, 75, 71A, 71B, 71C and 71D.
