United Way goal set at 110% of last year’s total

Pitt’s 2025-26 United Way Campaign kicked off on Oct. 1, with a goal of 110% of last year’s total of more than $702,000.

This year’s campaign is led by co-chairs Lina Dostilio, vice chancellor for external relations, and Dwayne Pinkney, executive senior vice chancellor for administration and finance and chief financial officer. A video from the co-chairs and other key campaign staffers talks about the importance of the United Way’s work.

Make a donation

Faculty and staff can once again give via payroll deductions and vacation hour donations — the final day to make such contributions is Dec. 10. Both options can be selected on my.pitt.edu through the United Way app, and donors can choose to remain anonymous.

If you made a payroll pledge in last year’s campaign, Pitt will rollover that pledge at the same contribution amount and with the same designations unless you make a change by the deadline.

Eligible Pitt employees also can give up to 40 hours of vacation time. Those hours will be converted into dollars that can be donated to the organization of your choice. Donated hours will be deducted from your vacation bank in January 2026. Check out an example of how vacation time donations are calculated. Please consult with your accountant or tax preparer regarding any tax questions.

Faculty or staff who make or confirm their payroll deduction by Nov. 15 will be entered for Pitt United Way Experiences Raffle prizes, including a $100 Pamela’s Diner gift card, a Carnegie Museums family membership, two tickets to a Sip of Pittsburgh Brewery Tour, two tickets for an in-depth Fallingwater tour and several more. Participants also can purchase a raffle ticket online for $10.

Each month from January through April during the campaign, a prize drawing will be held. All faculty and staff who make a donation prior to drawing dates will be eligible to win a prize.

This list of volunteer opportunities, workshops and events will be updated throughout the campaign. Staff and faculty can record up to 7.5 hours per month on their timecard for volunteer service, with supervisor approval.
