Act now to replace macOS 13 (Ventura) to keep access to PittNet

As of Nov. 30, devices running macOS 13 (Ventura) will no longer be able to access University resources through PittNet VPN (Pulse Secure) or Global Protect VPN.

Apple ended support for macOS 13 on Sept. 15. Devices running unsupported operating systems cannot be patched with proper security updates and run the risk of being compromised, having sensitive data lost, or becoming an entry point to allow hackers to attack other computers and servers on the University’s network.

Pitt Digital is encouraging all macOS 13 (Ventura) users to upgrade as soon as possible to a supported operating system, such as MacOS 14 (Sonoma), MacOS 15 (Sequoia), or MacOS 26 (Tahoe).

Pitt Digital is reaching out to individuals with unsupported operating systems who are connecting to University resources via VPN to make them aware of the change and assist as needed with the transition.
