The Pitt Innovation Challenge (PInCh) 2020 is now offering a bonus award of up to $25,000 for ideas that affect aspects of health related to an epidemic or pandemicProposals are not required to address this issue, but those that do would be eligible for additional funding.

The annual competition, sponsored by the Pitt Clinical and Translational Science Institute, is for innovative solutions to a challenging health problem, from any discipline and on any topic that affects health. Up to $555,000 total will be distributed to the winning projects. Each team must include a Pitt faculty member, but can include individuals from other educational institutions or non-academic organizations such as community groups or businesses.

Deadline for the initial entries is 5 p.m. April 29. To enter the competition, submit a two-minute video describing the problem you plan to solve, your idea for a bold solution, and your team.

Those selected will go on to a second round and finally a third round, where they will make elevator pitches to judges at a live event on Sept. 30.
