The 11 active Pitt Communities — the University’s resource groups for faculty and staff — accomplished an “incredible amount” during academic year 2025-26, said Zach Davis, director of engagement and wellbeing programs in the Office of Institutional Engagement and Wellbeing.
During 2025-26, Pitt Communities:
-
Engaged 1,532 faculty and staff volunteers
-
Grew their overall membership 8.3 percent
-
Hosted 77 programs and events
-
Increased their programming 51 percent
“These numbers are a testament to their leadership, creativity and commitment to building community across Pitt,” Davis said. “Every event they planned, meeting they hosted and connection they fostered contributed to these collective accomplishments.”
In addition, one new resource group — the Pitt Parenting Community — was launched in 2025-26, he said.
