Building hours vary over holiday break; vaccine hub closed until Jan. 9

Winter Recess for faculty, staff and designated offices is Dec. 23 through Jan. 2. Many campus buildings and resources will be on a modified schedule during these dates.

Student winter break runs Dec. 18 through Jan. 8. Residence halls on the Pittsburgh campus close at noon on Dec. 18 and will reopen Jan. 7. Classes resume Jan. 9.

Academic buildings winter break schedule

  • Dec. 18-23: Buildings open 7 a.m.-6 p.m.

  • Dec. 24-26: Buildings closed (University Holidays)

  • Dec. 27-31: Buildings open 7 a.m.-6 p.m.

  • Jan. 1-2, 2023: Buildings closed (University Holidays)

  • Jan. 3: All buildings return to normal schedules

Campus recreation: All facilities will be closed Dec. 23-Jan. 2.

Dining: Most eateries will be closed Dec. 18 through Jan. 2. Plate to Plate at Sutherland Market and Forbes Street Market will be open daily, except Dec. 25 and Jan. 1. Café 1923 in the University Club will be open weekdays. See the food service hours of operation for specific times. Most dining locations return to normal hours on Jan. 2.

Health services: Pitt Student Health Services and University Pharmacy will be closed Dec. 23-Jan. 2. The University Counseling Center also will be closed during these dates, but anyone in need of support can call 412-648-7930.

Onsite COVID testing at O’Hara Student Center will be closed when the University is closed, from Dec. 23-Jan. 3.

Pitt Vaccination and Health Connection Hub will be open Dec. 16, the last day before winter recess, and then close until Jan. 9.

Human Resources: To reach Human Resources throughout the winter recess, submit an online request. Representatives will monitor urgent messages/inquiries submitted via online request from Dec. 27-30. Benefits representatives can also be reached through the online request form and via telephone at 833-852-2210 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 19-23 and Dec. 27-30. Benefits customer service will be closed on Dec. 26 and Jan. 2.

Panther Central: Open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 19-22 and Jan. 3-6. Closed Dec. 23-Jan. 2.
