Katz ranks seventh for online MBA in new list from Fortune

Fortune magazine has entered the higher education rankings game with the publication last week of the Best Online MBA Programs of 2021, and Pitt’s Katz Graduate School of Business came in seventh on the list of 104 schools.

The rankings are part of the launch of Fortune Education, which is designed to help prospective students make the best decisions for their careers. The online MBA list is the first of six higher education rankings Fortune will publish in 2021. Fortune Education also will produce rankings of graduate, post-graduate, executive education, and personal and professional improvement programs.

The Fortune online MBA rankings are based on data provided by schools, a "Brand Score" that is calculated from a Fortune-Ipsos survey of hiring managers and business professionals, and a weighted "Fortune 1000 Score," which considers business school alumni placement in the C-Suites of the biggest companies in the U.S.

Pitt’s Oakland neighbor, Carnegie Mellon University and its Tepper School of Business, ranked third in the online MBA list. The University of North Carolina–Chapel Hill topped the list.
