Workshop proposals due May 14 for 2021 Diversity Forum

The 2021 Pitt Diversity Forum from July 26 to 29 will focus on “Dismantling Oppressive Systems: Building Just Communities.”

Members of the Pitt community and the community at-large are invited to submit virtual workshop proposals for the 2021 forum. The deadline to submit proposals is May 14.

The forum, sponsored by the Office of Equity, Diversity and Inclusion, will “address manifestations of the different forms of systemic oppression on individual, group and institutional levels, and detail policies and practices to advance the well-being of individuals and groups who continue to experience oppression based on such factors as race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender, socio-economic status and religious beliefs,” according to the Diversity Forum website.

The Diversity Forum was moved online last year because of the pandemic and attracted roughly 12,000 viewers from across the world.
