Artists will discuss works on display at ‘Broken Ground’ exhibit

Artists Clayton Merrell, Jamie Walters Kessler and Chris McGinnis, whose works are included in “Broken Ground” currently on view in the University Art Gallery, will discuss the industrial landscapes in the exhibition and making art in the Rust Belt today during a panel discussion on Feb. 8.

The conversation — from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. in the Frick Fine Arts auditorium — will be moderated by Alex J. Taylor, associate professor of History of Art & Architecture. A light reception to follow the event.

The University Art Gallery will be open on Feb. 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with 30-minute drop-in tours of the exhibitions at 10 a.m., noon and 3 p.m.
