Staff Council has announced the candidates for its 2025 officer elections, following the close of the nomination period on April 28. This year's ballot features a strong group of candidates representing a range of schools, departments and roles across the University, with elections scheduled to run from May 23 to June 17.
To support informed participation, personal statements from each candidate will be shared with Staff Council members prior to each voting window. In addition, a Presidential Q&A session will take place during the Staff Council general meeting on May 21. Members are invited to submit questions for the session in advance to sc@pitt.edu by May 17.

Staff Council Executive Committee officers are elected to two-year terms by the Staff Council membership. Staff Council actively contributes to the University's shared governance, advocates for staff, serves as a communication channel between staff and leadership, and offers opportunities for comprehensive professional development. The council also serves as a valuable resource for staff, helping colleagues navigate the opportunities, services, and challenges of working within a large and complex institution.
Staff Council also extends its appreciation to the departments and supervisors who support their staff’s participation in shared governance. Special thanks go to the Elections Committee for managing the nomination and voting process with care and transparency. The council also sincerely thanks outgoing officers Joy Hart and Monika Losagio for their service and contributions.
