The Pitt School of Law is renaming the Pitt Law Wellness Fund in honor of Brian Cuban, who started the fund to support students’ mental and physical health during law school.
The official announcement was made during Pitt Law’s commencement ceremony on May 8 at the Petersen Events Center, where Cuban, a 1986 graduate of the school, served as the Class of 2021 commencement speaker.
Following a short video about the importance of wellness in law school, Dean Amy Wildermuth said, “Because you Brian have enabled Pitt Law to continue to provide students the tools necessary to cope with the stressors of rigorous study and coursework along with healthy strategies for long-term success in the profession, we wanted to find a fitting way to honor you — so today it is my great pleasure and honor to announce that we are officially renaming the wellness fund — the Brian Cuban Wellness Fund.”
The wellness fund supports students during law school and prepares them for wellness in the legal profession.
