Find out everything going on at Pitt with new universal calendar

The top of the new University events calendarThe University has debuted a one-stop calendar for all parts of Pitt, where every school, department, center and unit can post events for the entire University community to see.

The new University events calendar will allow you to browse events or search by event name, type, location, the label by which it was tagged, the audience for which it is intended, or the names of University units. Each unit also will have its own calendar landing page for event descriptions and photos.

You can submit events to be posted by the Office of University Communications, which developed the calendar — or a representative from each department, center or unit can be designated to post its events after receiving training and access as a calendar “publisher.”

Selected events, featured at the top of the calendar, will offer users the chance to click “I’m interested,” which adds the event to your user profile on the calendar site. This will trigger automatic reminders about such upcoming events.

Within these selected events you also will be able to register, make reservations or order tickets, if the event requires, and review each event afterward. You also can invite friends to events — those who already have a calendar profile and others with a Pitt email address.

Much like a social network, you’ll also be able to follow units or event locations, so that they can send you alerts about their future events.
