Coleman Award will honor Lisa Scales and John Wilds

The 2021 Coleman Award will recognize Lisa Scales and John Wilds at a virtual ceremony on Dec. 9.

The Morton “Moe” Coleman Award for Excellence in Community Service is given out annually by the Institute of Politics to honor its founder. The award recognizes elected and nonelected community leaders who, by personal example and sustained generosity, have made a significant impact in the region.

Lisa Scales has been president and CEO of Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank since 2012. She also serves on the Board of Directors of Adagio Health and is an advisory board member of Pitt’s Center for Supply Chain Management at the University of Pittsburgh and Johnson Institute for Responsible Leadership, along with the Centers for Community Engagement at Robert Morris University. She is a member of the Institute of Politics Board of Fellows.

John Wilds served as the assistant vice chancellor for community relations at Pitt for nearly 20 years, before retiring in 2019. He continues to be active in the community.

The ceremony is from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Dec. 9. Register here to attend.
