Faculty, staff and students who are on campus this summer will find a few more dining options available from Pitt.
Julie Bannister, assistant vice chancellor for auxiliary services, said that since the Eatery in Litchfield Towers is still under construction, “This was a good opportunity to open the additional concepts. We wanted to expand the options for our students as well as our faculty/staff this summer.”
Unlike in previous years, Cathedral Café, which includes The Roost for chicken and Pom & Honey for bowls, salads and wraps, opened back up on May 13, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
Schenley Café in William Pitt Union is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Fridays, which it was last summer. This includes CrEATe (made-to-order salads), Wicked Pie (single-serve pizzas), Ft. Pitt Subs (submarine sandwiches on local Mancini’s bread), True Burger (local beef, turkey or black bean patties) or PA Taco Co. (street tacos).
Ethel’s and Smokeland BBQ have taken up residence on the walkways between Hillman Library and David Lawrence Hall. Ethel’s offers breakfast all day from a Spartan Aircraft trailer — 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays. The Smokeland food truck is open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Fridays.
The new Panera at Scaife Hall is open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
The Live Fresh Cold Pressed Juice + Smoothie Bar inside the University Store on Fifth is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays.
Cafe 1923, located in the University Club, is open from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.
Forbes Street Market is open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily, with grocery items and prepared meals.
All locations accept Pitt Ca$h, Dining Dollars, Panther Funds and credit cards. Panera and Forbes Street Market also accept cash. For more information, visit dineoncampus.com/pitt
Faculty and staff can enroll in Pitt Cash, which works just like a debit card, with money deducted automatically each month from your pay and added to your Pitt ID card. Purchases using Pitt Cash are exempted from sales tax and users get a 10 percent discount at non-national dining brands. Pitt Cash also does not expire.
