Sustainability workshop will discuss Pitt’s efforts and how you can help

A new Faculty and Staff Development Workshop next week will focus on “Sustainability: Environment, Ecosystems, and YOU.”

Participants will learn about environmental stewardship, Pitt’s related goals, and how individuals and departments can help the University improve its local and global environment. Pitt has made a commitment to carbon neutrality, renewable energy, alternative transportation, pollinators and protecting local ecosystems.

Learn about Pitt’s recycling, composting and specialty waste diversion efforts, while diving deeper into understanding climate change, ecologically friendly landscapes, and how you and Pitt can help build a resilient future for our region.

The virtual workshop from 9 to 11 a.m. June 10 will be led by Samantha Ford, sustainability projects coordinator, and Ellie Cadden, sustainability engagement assistant, both from the Office of Sustainability and Mascaro Center for Sustainable Innovation.
