Staff Council Briefs: Bike LunchLoop Registration Re-opened

The Bike LunchLoop, scheduled for Friday, June 22, has been re-opened for new participants, Staff Council announced at its June 20 meeting.

The free event will take place from noon to 1 p.m. and start in Schenley Plaza. The 30- to 45-minute ride through Oakland will promote bike safety and participants’ health. Healthy Ride bikes will be provided to those who do not want to bring their own bicycles. Register online.

Representatives from BikePGH, an event partner, will be on hand to lead the ride. Bike-safe shoes, a helmet, sunscreen, water bottle and sunglasses are recommended — as is a raincoat, since the ride will happen rain or shine. The event is co-sponsored by the Department of Parking, Transportation and Services and the Pitt Police.
