The Racial Equity Consciousness Institute will be held again this fall, taking a critical systems thinking approach to deconstructing the complexity and pervasiveness of racism and catalyzing personal and collective strategies to cultivate racial equity.
Cohort participants explore and engage the Structured Cognitive Behavioral Training framework for racial equity consciousness development in efforts to:

Broaden horizons, understanding and respecting diverse racial perspectives.

Nurture cultural humility, competence, and agency.

Foster a proactive attitude towards creating racially equitable and inclusive environments.

Develop the confidence to be a driving force for transformative social change.
Cohort sessions will take place in-person at the Center on Race and Social Problems (Room 2017, Cathedral of Learning) on the dates below. Light fare & refreshments will be provided.
Oct. 4 (2-5 p.m.): Racial Equity Consciousness — An Overview
Oct. 11 (3-5 p.m.): Recognizing Racial Oppression and Advancing Racial Liberation
Oct. 18 (3-5 p.m.): Examining Racial Identities and Addressing Racial Biases
Oct. 25 (3-5 p.m.): Embracing Racial Diversity and Growing Racial Literacy
Nov. 1 (3-5 p.m.): Building Racial Empathy and Enhancing Racial Stamina
Nov. 8 (3-5 p.m.): Acknowledging Racial Trauma and Fostering Racial Healing
Nov. 15 (3-5 p.m.): Gauging Racial Inequities and Championing Racial Justice
In-person seating is limited and registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Registration will close when capacity is met.
