Register now for Be Fit Pitt classes and fitness center membership

Registration is open now for the Healthy Lifestyle Institute’s Be Fit Pitt classes.

The Trees Hall fitness center — open to faculty, staff and community members, but not to students — will open on Aug. 26 for the fall season. Group classes will start on Sept. 3.

New this year is the Make the Move consult, where health fitness specialists will meet with you to determine the best program to fulfill your individualized health and wellness goals.

Group fitness classes for faculty and staff are offered at Trees Hall, Bellefield Hall and the William Pitt Union. Programming ranges from indoor cycling to total body training, Zumba and yoga. Most classes are 55 minutes long and twice a week, although an express yoga and Pilates class is being offered at Trees and WPU.

Membership at the Trees Hall fitness center is $55 per semester, which includes personalized fitness programming by one of the center’s team. You can add a class for $20. The fitness center is open from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 10 a.m. to noon Saturdays.

If you just want to take a class without the membership, the cost is $55 for the 55-minute classes and $40 for the shorter ones. Classes, which are led by exercise physiology students and certified staff, are offered before, during and after work.
