The 2022-2023 Benefits Open Enrollment period begins April 27 and ends May 25.

During the annual open enrollment period, Pitt employees can review and make changes to the benefits they have elected. Find all of the open enrollment information, including the summary guide to benefits, online at openenroll.hr.pitt.edu.

If you do not wish to make changes to your current benefits elections, no action is required. However, it is recommended that you proceed through the benefits enrollment process to ensure your selections are accurate.

Benefits open enrollment takes place in Pitt Worx, the University's human resources and payroll system. Find instructions on enrolling on the Open Enrollment website and on the Pitt Worx Hub (via Pitt Passport).

If you are adding new dependents, you must add them in the “Before You Enroll” section and upload their required documentation in “Document Records” prior to making your benefits elections.

What's new

Life insurance plan enhancements: While life insurance plan premiums through The Hartford remain the same, there are several plan enhancements effective July 1, 2022 that include a one-time modified opt-in enrollment option, increases in coverage, and new coverage tiers. Learn more about these plan enhancements.

Supplemental medical coverage: Available through PittPerks, MetLife is offering supplemental medical coverage with accident, critical illness and hospital indemnity insurance. This employee-paid coverage would serve as a supplemental policy to complement UPMC insurance provided by the University (or other existing coverage). Enrollment in this optional coverage only takes place during the open enrollment period via PittPerks.com; enrollment for these voluntary benefits does not take place in Pitt Worx. Learn about this new benefit.
