Lynda Learning becoming LinkedIn Learning in July

The online training system Lynda Learning will transition into LinkedIn Learning starting July 10.

LinkedIn, a professional social media networking service, originally acquired Lynda in 2015. Because of this merge, the service will be unavailable from 6 a.m. July 9 through midnight on July 10, according to an announcement from Pitt Information Technology.

According to Pitt Information Technology, this new service will combine the “best parts” of Lynda and LinkedIn.

Users will still be able to access online courses in business, technology, programming, professional development and creative topics.

However, there will now be more “personalized,” curated content based on a person’s skills, jobs and professional interests, the news release said. Content also can be gathered, organized and shared among other learners.

Pitt faculty, staff and students will have access to Lynda by logging into My Pitt or through AskCathy. This content also can be accessed through the LinkedIn Learning Mobile App.
