Look for Pitt Police during December’s Holiday Safety Blitz

The Pitt Police will sponsor a Holiday Safety Blitz campaign during the month of December.

Look for safety tips on social media (On Facebook and @PittPolice on Twitter) about prevention of burglary and theft, RideShare safety, RaveGuardian app benefits, and a “12 Days of Safety” special countdown to the holidays. 

Other upcoming activities with the Pitt Police include:

  • On Dec. 4, Pitt Police officers will be in Schenley Quad, Bouquet Gardens and Sutherland Hall with “Candy Cane Campus Safety Tips.” 

  • On Dec. 11, Pitt Police officers will host Cops & Hot Cocoa from 1 to 2 p.m. outside of the William Pitt Union to connect with Pitt students, faculty and staff.

  • On Dec. 25, Pitt Police are partnering with Pitt Community and Government Relations for their annual Holiday Dinner. 

  • Car seat check appointments are currently being accepted for any Pitt students, faculty and staff. Appointments are available from 9 a.m. to noon and 2 to 5 p.m. Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and weekends at the Public Safety Building, 3412 Forbes Ave. The installation will take about 45 minutes; please bring the vehicle and car seat manuals.   • Applications are being accepted through Nov. 30 for the next session of the Citizens Police Academy, open to students, faculty and staff. The 10-week program begins on Jan. 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesdays at the Public Safety Building. Topics covered include criminal law, firearms, traffic laws, DUI procedures and more. Contact Lt.
