Electronic W-2 forms available; consent required by Dec. 31

Pitt employees can now opt to receive their 2021 W-2 form electronically, according to the payroll department.

Anyone who wants to receive the form, which is required to complete your 2021 taxes, will need to provide consent no later than Dec. 31, 2021.

To request this change, sign onto PittWorx through the my.pitt.edu.

Select the “Me” tab at the top of the page, then the Form W-2 Information box. Click on “Go Paperless,” review the consent information and select “I Agree.” Make sure that you’ve entered an email address that the statements can be sent to under settings.

Visit this page for more information including instructions on accessing the site to opt in and how to access your electronic W-2 once they are available.

The payroll department is touting the electronic W-2s as safe, fast, accessible, green and cost-saving. In addition, ADP, the third-party vendor who manages tax transactions for the University, provides a control number so that your W-2 information can be downloaded to many tax software products.

Additional information regarding your tax document can be found on the payroll website by:

  • Selecting your role

  • Select “Pay & Taxes”

  • Select “Year End Information”

If you have any questions, please submit an inquiry and select Payroll > Form W-2/1042-S Questions.
