Two open forums planned this week on dean of students search

The Office of the Provost will hold open forums this week to gather feedback about the search for a new dean of students.

There will be an open forum from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday for Pitt students and from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday for the general community. A forum for staff members will be announced at a later date.

These forums follow a recent announcement that Vice Provost and Dean of Students Kenyon Bonner will take on a new role with University leadership as vice provost for student affairs and step away from his role as dean of students.

This is a part of Pitt’s plans to reorganize the scope of Student Affairs to better serve Pitt’s regional campuses.

Marc Harding, vice provost for enrollment, will chair the national search committee to identify the new dean of students.

Members of the Pitt community are also invited to share their thoughts on the search through a community survey.
