SVC Greg Scott leaving Pitt after extended leave of absence

In May, Greg Scott, senior vice chancellor for Business and Operations, abruptly took an indefinite leave of absence for personal reasons, and David DeJong was named to that role on an acting basis.

Today, Chancellor Patrick Gallagher announced that Scott is leaving Pitt after four years to pursue other opportunities, and DeJong will continue to serve as acting SVC, in addition to his permanent job as vice chancellor of Human Resources.

During his time at Pitt, Scott’s accomplishments included launching a comprehensive campus master plan, creating the Office of Sustainability and chairing a record-breaking United Way campaign, according to Gallagher’s announcement. Scott came to Pitt in 2016 after 15 years working at Penn State.

Mark Burdsall, assistant vice chancellor of consulting services in HR, has stepped up to the role of acting deputy vice chancellor for Human Resources.
