Sign up for Pitt’s annual Day of Caring on Oct. 18

Provost Cudd and Chancellor Gallagher with Day of Caring volunteers

Pitt’s annual Day of Caring will be from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Oct. 18.

The day, sponsored by the Pitt Office of Community and Government Relations in partnership with United Way, pairs Pitt faculty and staff with a community organization to complete a service project.

In previous years, participants were assigned to projects; this year they will be able to select projects at the point of registration. Departments and organizations also will be able to register full teams.

Projects have included painting, landscaping and general cleaning. This year, CGR will offer a new on-campus opportunity. Work materials, lunch and a Day of Caring t-shirt will be provided, as well as transportation to the work site. Volunteers will meet at 8 a.m. at the William Pitt Union Ballroom.

Registration opened on Sept. 9.

Contact Jamie Ducar, director of community engagement, with questions.
