Pitt Police taking part in National Night Out on Aug. 2

Pitt Police will once again host a National Night Out event from 6 to 8 p.m. Aug. 2 at the Schenley Plaza tent.

The event, which is held annually on the first Tuesday In August, allows law enforcement organizations the opportunity to engage with the community in a positive and family-friendly environment.

In addition to community resources and information about crime safety and prevention, the event will feature food from Sciulli’s Pizza, refreshments, giveaways, music and free carousel rides.

Pitt Police is organizing the event with several partners: Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy, Carnegie Mellon Police, Pittsburgh Park Rangers, Oakland Business Improvement District, Carlow University Police, Allegheny Regional Asset District, the Pittsburgh Poison Center, the FBI, and Living in Liberty.
