Cutout for Cathedral of Learning origami

The sixth Pitt Day of Giving is coming on Feb. 22 and the Department of Philanthropic and Alumni Engagement has several activities and challenges planned.

On-campus donation stations, where you can scan a QR code to donate, will be set up from 8 a.m. to midnight in the Pitt Alumni Association lobby in Alumni Hall and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Kimbo Art Gallery, on the first floor of the William Pitt Union.

The University has identified four areas of greatest priority for donors: The Pitt Fund, the student emergency assistance fund, the general scholarship fund and Panthers Forward.

During the fifth Pitt Day of Giving in February 2021, more than 11,100 donors — the most ever — gave nearly $2.5 million to scholarships, research, academic programs, student organizations, athletics, and other initiatives.

Pitt supporters also are encouraged to use social media to promote the Day of Giving. One fun activities is creating your own Cathy Origami. An image of the desk-sized Cathedral of Learning and instructions on how to create it can be found here. When you’re done, post a photo of your creation on social media using #PittDayofGiving. Organizers also want to know if you’re #TeamCathy or #TeamCathedral.
